Son
By Joe Schneberger
Shaken awake by my toddler son
What’s wrong
It’s dark
I’m afraid
It’s okay
Come lay by my side
I love you dad
I love you too son
I’ll always be by your side dad
I know
Sunrises and Sunsets
Years glide by
Day by day
High School, College
Trips and jobs to far-away lands and places
No matter where you roam
Whatever comes your way
You’re in my heart
I’m by your side
My Seasons
Joe Schneberger
I wake up
The year is new
Cold air
My teeth chatter
Spring comes
The sun warms my bones
Summer takes forever to arrive
And then finally
That perfect day
That perfect night -with fireflies and a perfect full moon over the lake
A night you remember and go to in your mind when its 20 below
Fall arrives
Maple trees change color and welcome the frost
Kids play football
Most of us eat turkey
Snow falls
Mistletoe hangs
A year gone by
I wake up
The year is new
Cold air
My teeth chatter
